They Are Now Mr and Mrs

Had the most bizarre dream last night. I'd watched Patsy Palmer on Piers Morgan, and in my dream her having 2 premature babies translated into Kate giving birth the night before the wedding - to a 2-months premature baby, without knowing she was pregnant. And still going ahead with the wedding. Thank god it was back to reality this morning.

An abbey full of hats! Millinery masterpieces. Although SamCam chose not to wear one, and had brooches in her hair instead. Her choice of turquoisey outfit looked excellent against the carpet. Elton John didn't do much full-gusto singing did he; he was more of a mumbler. Maybe he didn't want to upstage... And all those royals. Can't believe there are so many. The royals arriving by minibus - wtf - but at least they were economising. William in full regalia, with white gloves 'n' everything. And at last we found out Kate was wearing Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen and looked fabulous. Not a meringue in sight. Though the poor girl had to haul the weight of that train the full length of the Abbey all by herself...

And when the British dress up, they Really Dress Up....

....ignore that half-painted lounge wall. Still deciding whether to revert to the dark or plough on with the lighter grey.

And we made a pudding for the occasion. Of the wedding, not the decorating. A jelly made the night before.....

And then the 12 year old was impatient to get going with the meringues, cream and trifle sponges
(which are better crispy than soggy so went on top)

Hope you have all had a wonderful royal day!

yep, gotta use that pyrex! was going to do the jelly in a clear bowl for the visual layering potential - but I think I got rid of it :(

Hello:
Would that they were Mr. and Mrs. Therein, for us, lies the problem -that they are not.

We had a wonderful day, thank you, without sight or sound of Westminster Abbey, etc. etc. etc.!!

Love the grey of your drawing room wall - go for it. We see Patsy Palmer regularly when in Brighton for she lives there and is always, so it seems, in our friend's delicatessen.

Hmm... wonder what name Kate's new bank card will have on it (we can't say cheque book anymore). We used to see PP in a bar-that-used-to-be-a-church in Shoreditch when we lived there. The painting will have to wait for the next splurge of energy - til then no more photos in the lounge!

The mini-buses! Couldn't believe it!! I'm still in two minds whether to have liked the whole thing or not when there's all the money problems in the country right now and all that jazz. I couldn't help but have a peep though! :~}

And btw... how'd you set up captcha on your blog?

I think its lifted "the mood" of the nation - for a bit. And think of all that tourist spend-power.

What's captcha? Have I done something technical - with success? Where?

Thought it was a shame poor William couldn't leave his hat on ;-)

SamCam is being slated for not wearing a hat - I did like her dress though. Beatrice looked like a Lady Gaga tribute act. Mind you, my wedding tiara got an outing today, so I'm probably not one to talk!

@Jane and Lance - Patsy P lives next door to my brother in law and has extremely noisy parties, kept us awake all night last time we were there (grumpy emoticon)

oooh I love this! We could have a whole blog network all about PP. Yep, can believe it about the parties...

lol at Beatrice - takes after her mum obviously ;)

Wondered how the men coped with those itchy-looking collars. The hat might have fallen off when he had to keep kneeling for all those prayers!
