If Barbara Cartland Had Been Reincarnated...

...wouldn't it have been as one of these?

oh alright then, here's one where her make-up
doesn't look quite so ridiculous

girls, shop that wardrobe!

just one of her many, many millions of titles.
I think this one was written between breakfast and elevenses...

I love pink gerbras, though now they remind me of an extremely annoying episode of Don't Tell The Bride "oh my god, she's got pink Gerbras, I wanted pin Gerbras at my weeking". Now I will try and associate them with the delightful Barbara Cartland instead

Thanks Lucy... little coincidences in life, like the Cartland bling resembling one of these magnificent flahs...priceless! xx

Hi Clare... ooh, I remember that episode! I love how the girls know exactly what dress they want, get the dress-from-hell, have a tantrum, then emerge from the changing room all smiles... I think the producers *have a word and threaten to nab the £12K back* xx

Oh Barbara... She'd probably like to come back as a flower. Or one of those hairy little lap dogs she liked. Or a cupcake. xxx

Hi Em - thanks! Love your blog; you are sooo glam! xx

Curtise - hysterical! Yes, I think she would... or something sicky-sweet and meringuey. Or a big, wobbly blancmange, but it would have to be dusted liberally with edible glitter.... While I was finding those pictures - believe me, there were HUNDREDS, I was Quite Restrained in my choices - I came across people's pics of Barbara-themed parties. I had no idea... I've been missing out all these years;) xx

Dear girl, thank you for following and thank you for this nice post about Barbara Cartland. I remembered I saw a film about her when I was a young girl and I was fascinated about all that pink. I had never known that somebody could live like her. I also remembered her long hairy dog that she somehow wrapped around her arm like a scarf. But I must admit that I've never read a single book of her. Hugs from Miss Maple
