B is for.....

.....Bertram!

Who has come to live with us for Christmas. But then again a red flock reindeer isn't just for Christmas is it. And it won't need to go walkies at stupid o'clock in the morning...

While New Things were creeping into the house, I realised I had always wanted needed a good ol' bit of Catholic Kitsch. Look who was waiting for me in the window of Paperchase. A glittery Mary!!!

Um, can anyone see a 2nd reindeer?

Oh yes, Paperchase always comes into its own at this time of year. All kinds of Christmas kitsch. Who's Bertram's glittery blue friend, I like him.

I was REALLY BAD in Paperchase.... not just the Mary, but some sequinned birds (will use them for YEARS, so investment purchase, ha ha), some glittery fircones (whatever happened to paint-yer-own?).... a...n...d .... Norris the Blue Reindeer. Will try to stay out of the shops next time there's a public sector strike and the 12 year old wants a day out... ;) x

Hi, yes I'm a big fan of Paperchase. I have the flock reindeer in pink which I bought some years ago now. I also have a flock polar bear, some glittery penguins (rather like your glittery reindeer and Mary) and a pink feathery peacock (I think that's what it is anyway!). A handy tip: last year, I bought wrapping paper, Xmas cards and the glitter penguins in the Paperchase sale after Xmas - they were dead cheap. I never normally buy things like that in sales but they were such brilliant bargains, I just had to! xx

I could almost start celebrating Xmas with glorious kitschy decorations like that...how fab!
Mind you, I'm such a slattern I'd leave them up all year round gathering even more dust. x
